Hello, friends ad welcome to today’s post. We are here because we want to know how to create a verified Ghanaian PayPal account, how to get a prepaid card, how to link the card to PayPal, and withdraw money through momo.
So to start with, I will like to clear this misconception about PayPal in Ghana.
Many people out there are of the view that you cannot create and use a PayPal account in Ghana.
Yea it’s true you cannot create a PayPal account in Ghana by just going to paypal.com.
But this does not mean you can’t create and use PayPal in Ghana.
In this short discussion, I will be showing you the easiest way to create a PayPal account in Ghana, get a free virtual prepaid card, and link to the account.
Once you link the card to the account, then you can push money from PayPal to the card, then withdraw from mobile money in Ghana.
The discussion is going to be in two sections, first, we are going to start with the account creation then I will refer you to a resource I put together to see how to get the free virtual card.
So without wasting any time, let’s see how to create a PayPal account in Ghana.
To create an account in Ghana, there is some information you must make available.
First name, Last Name, Email, Phone number, City/Location, state, date of birth, and voter ID.
Once you have these details readily available, then you can open your browser and type the URL: www.paypal.com/ls in the address bar.
This link will help you have a smooth account creation.
The reason why we use this URL is that, as Ghana is blacklisted from creating an account,
You cannot just go to www.paypal.com and create an account as a Ghanaian. It will not be possible.
So you need to trick the PayPal bot by using a different country’s PayPal URL/Address.
Here, the “ls” stands for Lesotho.
So we are going to use the Lesotho PayPal URL for this task.
Now once you go type the URL in your browser, you’ll be taken to the homepage of PayPal.
Once you are on the homepage, you’ll see two buttons.
Signup and Sign in.
Since you are new to the page, you’ve got to sign up.
Click on the signup button and then you will be given two options to choose from.
You will see a personal account and a business account.
Here, you have to choose a business account.
Then you continue and fill in all the required details.
Now, there is one area I will like you to take note of.
That’s the business phone number.
By default, there will be Lesotho, code (+266)
Tap on that code and look for Ghana.
Then select Ghana and enter your Ghana phone number.
Once everything goes right, you’ll be taken to the next page where you have t choose your business type and other information relating to your business.
Under the business type, make sure to choose “Individual/sole proprietor”.
Then the business category should be family clothing or professional service.
Now, you proceed to the next stage where you have to enter your identity.
The identity type, choose National ID and then enter your voter ID number or Ghana card number, then confirm all details before you click on the submission details.
Once everything goes right, you are done.
PayPal will send you a confirmation link in your email.
Open your email and then click on the confirmation link.
Now you’ll be taken to the PayPal page and there, they will ask you to enter your password.
Enter the correct password and if it corresponds, then you are done.
Congratulation, you’ve successfully created a PayPal account.
Now you can use the account to receive and send money to Ghana.
